This kind of crap iritates the crap out me! People have no respect for other peoples property. I went to NC to pick my Mini up becuse cars in this area are hard to find without door/bumper dings. I am very picky with my cars and for a long time did not have anything I nice becasue of this very reason. So, second day I had it I was parked in my complex with about 3-4 feet of room on both sides come home from work and some jack whole managed to ding my door

I'm part of a mom's club on another site, and we were talking about if our kids left a ding in someone's door, what would we do? One mom ahem *b*tch* actually said, "If people didn't want dings in their doors, they shouldn't drive nice cars." That she doesn't leave a note because it's part of life, and people should just deal with it. B*tches like her give all us moms a bad name

What a great mentality to be passing on to your kids..... plus I bet she would be the first to complain if someone did that to her car and she witnessed it happening.

Shoot, that's nothing. Here's what I found after shopping one day:

The cart corral was just behind me...

People are idiots! I love when they park their Suburbans or Expeditions in the space to the left and park on the line so that they have plenty of room to get their fat butts out of their vehicle, but leave me 6 inches to try to get into my car.

OMG! That absolutely drives me crazy, 2!!! Had that happen just this morning! Ugh!

Right! Where I used 2 work, we had a covered garage of about four-five levels. Well, on the corners, there were posts w/signs that clearly read: Compact Cars Only. Wouldn't u know there'd be SUVs/minivans parked there anyway, so that when two opposing cars simultaneously turning that corner would actually have 2 stop and be sure no1 was coming because of the behemoths blocking the view. Idiots, indeed.

I always keep a roll or two of pennies in the glovebox as my insurance. I really cat believe it though, I have had my mini for 1 week and 3 dings / scratches already . I've gone through $1.50 in pennies already, I fear I may have to go back to the aluminum baseball bat like my dad keeps in his 7 series. My old 350z that I had for 3 years only ever got 1 scratch. What gives?

I feel everyone's pain but to add to it, try dealing with the whole accessibility / handicapped parking issue. People pull some unbelievable, idiotic moves while they're "just running in for a minute.." Meanwhile I have to park and wheel my chair from 1/4 mile away. Most people don't care and don't think and probably don't care to think. What happened to rules, manners and polite behavior..

Revenge-better than dents

Before the day of internet shopping I used to dread parking in any kind of public lot due to the asshats going out of their way to damage your vehicle, then one day a hunting friend of mine gave me a bottle of "Doe in estrus" formula which deer hunters use to cover their own scent, you simply shake up the bottle and pour a few drops down into their cowl venting, no scratches, no dents, but it renders vehicle almost unusable until the stench finally subsides. Available at your friendly neighborhood outdoor shop!

Just got back from my vacation in Flushing, Queens (it's in NY) and finding a parking spot is dang near impossible. If my dad found one, I warned him to not park too close to the front car for two reasons: first - try to be nice and give them a chance to pull out when they get back. Second - if someone parks behind you and you're touching the front car, you've just boxed yourself in! Now you have to find one of the owners and get them to move the car so you can get out! NY is no friend to MINIs, I saw a grand total of FOUR the whole trip! I am not kidding. Considering the low number, I was shocked to see a JCW Clubman parked near a school just off Long Island. And of course, as my bad luck has it, I forgot my camera!
