2007 or 2008 S

Hello Everybody:

Been lurking around Nam for the better part of a year and am about ready to buy. I am looking for a 2nd gen Cooper S. Is there any benefits to the 2008 over the 2007 other than being a year newer. I try to avoid first year models after a refresh but was wondering if there is any appreciable difference in the two model years.

Thanks and see you all at AMVIV......

Larry

I don't know about those models specifically but the most recent model of any series is the best, as they incorporate rolling improvements throughout production.

BTW, the 2007 MCS is closer to a first year model than a refresh, imo. There were lots of changes from 2006...

Agreed. I was just wondering if anybody knew the specific changes. All I can find is that there were no major changes.

I think you'll get a lot more specifics if you ask this in the 2'nd gen "Coupe Talk" section.

Theres a few small differences between 07 and 08, we have both so I notice. Auto up windows is what I frequently miss in the 07. Our 08 also has BlueTooth and the USB for the iPod works better than the 07. The 08 has tire pressure monitors vs the ABS rotation system, the TPMS is much more sensitive to low tire pressue. The 08 is also rated for slightly better MPG (like about 1mpg better). However, 07s's are supposed to have slightly more power.
