This is the wrong section for this post. This is for 1959 to 2001 minis. You will get better response in another section.

The Mini's are fun to drive and own. All the owners recognize each other and I belong to the Philly Mini car club where we go on motoring trips over the spring, summer and fall weekends.
Mechanically, I have had a 2007 and 2009 Mini Cooper S, the last being a convertible. I have not had anything serious hapen and each visit for the maintanance and service only for the usual items. I wish you luck with your search.

Check out the buyers guides on www.motoringfile.com Lots of good info on the different model years.

It's largely luck of the draw (certain model years have trends though), and since you're looking used there is also the question of previous owner to consider. If you could post some more details about the cars we might be able to pinpoint some common issues to check for.

I don't think MINI's are prone to a lot of problems, probably no more than most other cars. Overheating is not one of them. The cvt auto transmission is to be avoided, abused clutches, Midland manual transmissions are trouble points and other minor parts can be problematic, but are not any excuse for avoiding buying a MINI.
