what 9 to 5'er do you do to fuel your mini passion?
I'm an emergency physician in T-Towne, a new mini owner (my wife named it Duplo), father to many children (wife and I claim all 5) and very happy to be on the upper 30's MPG instead of my previous 10mpg in a ford f150....
I got my degree in Civil Engineering, took 5 years and worked with different firms the whole time I was going to school. Graduated and got a full time job at the last place I was working for...lasted 6 months as I went to 3 days a week (40% pay cut) and found my current job. Manufacturing Engineer for a good size, privately held company making medical device, implants for minimally invasive orthopedic surgery. I have a buddy on the bio-med desgn side who urged me to apply for the manufacturing side. So not quite 9-5..more like 7-3:30 but I get to drive my MINI a minimum of 60 miles each day
Lots of engineers, but I didn't read any that were mechanical engineers??
Lots of software & civils.. I'll rep the mech engrs!
I work as a Repair Development Engineer for a large Aero Engine/Aerospace company. Basically damaged turbine engines (many from the ones you fly on via delta etc) and evaluate damage and forumlate technical repair documents for repair shops to repair them.

Work in IT for a very successful, relatively small insurance company. At least compared to the ones everyone knows out there. By successful I mean our stock closed today at $396 per share...
Instead of 9-5 for me its 12-8.

Graduated from Penn State Behrend in '09, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Working for Uncle Sam in Defense Acquisition.
9-5? You mean like everyday? Seems excessive.
I am a consultant, working on manufacturing improvement projects for various companies. I save them money and they pay me. I use up all of my free time working on a PhD. The MINI is critical to getting me everywhere I need to be, but I do hate parking it on campus. College students are terrible drivers.

I do graphic design and vehicle graphics. Just started my own business and have already got to do some pretty sweet jobs (Including one soon for a very well know Mini tuner).
Is anyone here versed in PIC programming? I have an idea I would like to see happen. PM me if you are interested and would like to be a part of it.

Software Quality Engineering Lead for a small data storage company. I telecommute mostly, except for the one day a week I have to go into the office for meetings, so look for any excuse to get behind the wheel!
Same here, hopefully the job market is better in Canada than the US. Stuck on a high school C.A. job right now, been stuck doing institutional work since I started. I'm considering a career change to IT, would probably make more money starting out than with all my architecture experience!
