Yes they are Tartan Red seats standard on the MC40 limited edition.

06s have weight sensors, so the car getting pre 05 seats will need a resistor so the airbag system light doesn't come on (search for more details) and the 06 seats will have an extra plug.

The front passenger seat of an '04 does not have a sensor pad. You'll get an airbag light unless you transfer the pad. Some people have installed aftermarket seats by just plugging in the pad without actually installing it in the new seat.

A resistor doesn't seem to work for the pad, according to reports here.

NO those are not the MC40 seats. Those are a set of recovered factory seats. The car they are in was totaled in FL, I saw it at a salvage auction.

Way, I thought so. That's why I posted this. Aren't the factory seats red on the side bolsters rather than the seat and lumbar? That car ended up in MI. Well traveled wreck.

Here are 4 pics of the MC 40 Special Edition. This car belonged to a friend of a friend and these pics were sent to me when he was trying to sell it a few years ago.

Thanks Fish! You friend had a nice ride. I would like to find a set of those seats. Was going to get the ones I posted off Ebay, but the seller will not reply to any emails I've sent. Three weeks worth!

My my... Those look like they may have Katzkin covers on them. I noticed that they like to use the vertical seams in their other seats, just like you can see in the back seats.

Quality and fit looks pretty good...

Hmmm... you may be on to something. I only looked at the thumbnail before, but now that I click on it, I see that the seats are all-leather. The MINI Tartan Red seats were cloth+leather (red part in cloth). Notice the stitching is different from the original post (in addition to having cloth).

Are Katzkins an additional cover or do they replace the original material?

Gabe (MotoringFile)'s '05 MCS. The U.S. got a different seat bottom starting in '05 because of the seat sensor.
