Which Transmission Lube????

After checking this and other forums and other internet related sources of information, and after checking with a number of dealers and specialty performance companies, I'm still not sure what to put in my Mini's transmission.

First off, this is what I've got:

'06 Cabriolet with full JCW package including 6 speed Getrag and limited slip.
Build date: June 30, 2006
Transmission: GS6-85BG

I've seen this several places on the web:

6 spd Getrag GS6-85 up to 7/2004 MTF-94
6 spd Getrag GS6-85 from 7/2004 MTF-LT-3
6 spd Getrag GS6-85 with limited slip from 1/2005 MTF-94
6-speed Getrag GS6-55 BG, GS6-53 BG/DG from 9/2006 MTF-LT-4

And from what I've learned from various dealers and private auto specialists, some say MTF-LT-3, other say MTF-94.

I've also found that some MTF-94 fluids (not BMW) are not LSD compatible. Some are. And I don't know if the BMW specific fluids are LSD compatible.

So, what do I use? I want to stick with the BMW stuff right now until my warranty is up. Then I'll probably switch to Redline MTL.

Or, since I only have 23,000 miles on the car, I may simply wait until my warranty expires this coming September and make my first transmission fluid change then.

I sure wish the information was easier to come by.

Thank much!

Hey, that seems like a copy of an actual BMW service bulletin. Thanks. So, is looks like MTF94 is what I need.

Do you know if the MTF94 is synthetic or not?

And I'm assuming that Redline's MTL would be an excellent aftermarket choice?

'Just a follow-up.

I was feelin' pretty sure that the MTF-94 was what to use, but decided to check with one last source. That source was Mini back in New Jersey. I emailed them my questions and left my cell number and within an hour, I got a call confirming that the MTF-94 is what you want to use in a LSD equiped 6 speed. They also confirmed that it is a synthetic blend, not a full synthetic. So, for that reason alone, I will change it out more frequently. And when I'm no longer on the factory warranty, I'll likely switch over to Redline's MTL.

Thanks all!
