Just a Shout Out

I've owned my 2007 MCS since Nov. 2009. Since then I've been to 4 MINI dealers. Braman of Miami, Braman of Palm Beach, MINI of Stamford, CT., Inskip of Warick RI. Both Braman dealers, and Inskip are HIGHLY recommended by me.

Already knew about Inskip....last 3-4 yrs runing they have won MINI's Best Service Dept Award....

Good to know there is at last ONE...MINI Service Dept in Florida with a good rep...I have heard some real horror stories from owners in that state.

If you've seen some of my earliar posts you know I purchased my pre-owned MINI, from Toyota of Miami and I live in CT. A friend of mine who's the manager of a local Firestone Auto Center in CT arranged to have my MINI inspected at a Firestone Auto Center just 1/4 mile from the Toyota dealer. We weren't concerned about the mechanicals, since the MINI was still under full warranty, we just wanted to insure the MINI wasn't involved in any major accident, and there wasn't any frame issues. Shout out to Firestone Auto Centers, they know how to deal with their long term customers. When I got their "OK" I purchased the Mini. The next day I brought it back to Braman Miami MINI, another shout out,( they originally sold the lil guy) they tuned it up, replaced all hoses, and belts, and clutch, and spent about an hour with me teaching me about the features. while I was in Fl I visited family in Palm Beach and my MINI wouldn't start. I called the 1-800 MINI line, and the AAA truck came in less than 1/2 hour, another shout out. I was given a boost and "told your battery is shot". I Drove to MINI of Palm Beach (also owned by Braman) an they agreed that my battery was shot. They installed a new battery and tested all the electrical systems, under warranty (another shout out) and they told me your good to go. I drove the 1,300 miles home and noticed some minor issues. When I arrived home I went to my local MINI Dealer, MINI of Stamford, CT and I gave them my check list, I was told that I would need to make an appointment (2 weeks) and NONE of those issues were covered by the warranty. I made the appointment, that I eventually cancelled. I visited my son who's going to school in Providence RI and drove by Inskip MINI in Warwich, RI (another loud shout out). I gave them the same check list, and they said we'll take care of these issues in 2-4 hours.

I'm not going to bad mouth any dealers, but if I lived in Florida I'd go go to Braman of Miami, or Palm Beach. I live in Connecticut, and I'm willing to drive an extra 1 1/2 hours to go Inskip in Warwich, RI.

Sorry for being so wordy.
