Hemi Powered Mini?
My friend sent me a email and I don't believe how I missed seeing this during the Adirondack Nationals in Lake George, 2009. I live right near there
.
Has anyone else seen this r53 anywhere? Vermont, maybe?
I wonder what the MPG are.

OMG!!! Out of gear the exhaust gas pressure alone should be good for 10 or 15 mph.

What engine is it? Is it a hemi-head V8?
I'm guessing that it must be rear wheel dirve. The weight distribution must be horrible. I'll bet it spins wheels like crazy, but isn't that fast. He should have put the engine in the back.

I'm interested in any photo blog about this build. It looks rather impressive from an engineering point of view.

That's frickin' awesome.
Although, I'd bet that the handling of that MINI may have been negatively affected by the gigantic blown Hemi out front. Just a guess...

I love the customized valve covers that say "MINI HEMI". Those must've been expensive!

Actually looks well done mechanically. Not sure what it might look like from underneath, but that would be interesting to see.
Looks like big noise from front to rear, I suspect it does not handle the twisties very well.
I hope it was one he picked up with a salvage title.

Not
that "original". They used to stuff that engine combo into Fiat 500 Topolino's back ~1960! Would have used a Classic Mini if they'd been available, LOL. "They" were the Smoker's Hot Rod Club, Bakersfield, CA.
