Minspeed - formerly MyMini - closing it's doors

Not sure if this news has made it over to NAM yet or not, but Pete the owner of MinSpeed (formerly MyMini) is closing the doors. The economy has just killed business and so as the saying says - everything must go.

I spoke with Pete last week and he is putting up a clearance section on his website and updating it every week to help move the products (he still has a bunch of stock to move before they are officially closed).

If you know Pete and his products, they were both top notch, and although not a vendor on NAM, he has been a huge supporter of SSM our local Florida MINI group.

if you want to check the website if there is something you are looking for, just email him.

I picked up some new rotors, brake pads and lrear ower control arms all at a huge price break, and I know plenty other from SSM have been just offering best wishes and picking up those last items they never did but always wanted.

http://www.minspeed.net/

I am not affiliated with Minspeed, I have been a freind and customer of Pete's for a long time now and just wanted to give others the chance to say good-bye and take advantage of some clearance prices.

This is tough -- Pete was honest and Minispeed had some unique products.

Sad....got my down-tube knee pad from him, and I ordered my JCW injectors from him on sale last week. Now I feel a bit like a vulture. Is the second site that he runs... The ford fusion mod one going to stay up or is he getting out entirely?? Either way, the best of luck to him.... He has a few supporters up at Mass Motoring Club.

Got my box by UPS a couple of days ago. Fast shipping.... I ordered it at 11 pm one day, and by 9 am the next it was boxed up ready to go. I ordered the down tube pad from him in '05 I think and I still love it.. I would recomend it to anybody.... Great for both long trips and track days if yor legs is uncomfortable from resting on the downtube!!
Hopefuly some of his great and unique nitch filling products will live on.

I need a new exhaust here soon anyway. The one I have is the OEM exhaust and it is rusting out, especially near the tailpipe. For $200, that's not a bad replacement and i'd like to help support. Will this exhaust add more power or is it an OEM replacement? It doesn't give alot of detail. http://www.minspeed.net/R50MSMCE.htm It also says there is an option for resonated or straight pipe but I don't see it listed. Will I need to replace my catalyst or anything with this? Will this void a warranty?

Do you have any idea about how much HP/torque I'll gain from the megan racing exhaust + megan racing headers + DDM Works CAI?
I am going to install them all at once. I can get all three for $800.
Also, would I need to get my ECU remapped? After I do these mods, I am going to upgrade my plug wires and plugs.

I am still waiting on my painted head and tail light rings. I ordered them like 2 weeks ago. But I take it the painting is what is taking so long and people buying stuff on the epic rate.

I talked to him. He said not to waste money on a header as no noticeable gain. He said most CAI are worthless as well and suggested a drop in filter instead. Then he suggested the JCW exhaust + drop in filter kit. It's like $550 + $100 for S&H. What is everyone else's experience with CAI and exhaust systems for the R50?

My order arrived yesterday, Hubby loved the Handbrake Console Rubber Pad, I'm hoping the wheel wax will keep me from having to wax my tires every 2 months. And the MINI Flag Sticker will L@@K great once I get it put on.

Thanks again Minspeed, very fast shipping and I love the stuff I got!!
