Any Experience With Stripe Removal?

I've placed a deposit for an 09' MCS that's due to arrive in Southern California next week.

The build is EXACTLY what I'm looking for and was what I was in the process of ordering when I was told that there were two of these builds in transit to the states.

That said, the only addition on the vehicle that was made that I don't want and that I've been told is easily removed are the hood stripes.

I was just going to throw a post out there to anyone who has either knowledge or experience with this process and any feedback they may give to me. I can, at the end of the day, live with them but I would prefer not to have them.

I come from a long line of BMWs and can honestly say I'm more excited about this one than the 06' 911 4S we drove for two years.

Thanks for any and all feedback!

I purchased my '09 Clubman without them. However, I had a change of heart and had them installed 2 weeks ago. I would leave them on for now, and later on if you still hate them, you can remove them with a hair dryer, since they are just made from vinyl. In my honest opinion, I think MINI's look better with the stripes and look too plain without them.

I agree with Kimbo80~
you might find that you even want different stripes. I ordered mine without stripes..because I had a local mini guy make me some that go all the way over the bumpers. odds are you will want some stripes (they just might not be the kind you get at the dealership) but the good thing is they do come right off, the dealership will take them off for you even.

I am on my send MINI. Both of them came with stripes. I wanted something different. They are easy to remove. Use a hair dryer to warm the material and work slowly up the stripe. Any residue can be removed with goof-off, possibly alcohol, etc. Then you can decide to restripe or leave naked.

No Strips

I have a 09 JCW and choose not to go with strips. The reason is the Cooper tends to be a cop magnet and I don't want to do anything to add to attention getting.
