So how do you become a member of the Horizon Blue Mini Club? I have a 2011 r56 MCS in Horizon Blue. Wasn't able to load a photo from my App, said there is some kind of error with the server.

I too would like to become a member of this club. Mine is an 07 HZB 95K white gray stripe on the bonnet and a single on the rear gate. Also, she goes Topless!

My wife and I just purchased a 2010 Horizon Blue MINI S R56 and love it...can you put us as members of the HBM club? When we get a pretty day I'll go outside and wash it and take a photo to post! Thanks, B

I just got mine. '10 Horizon Blue 6 speed with a white top. Formerly a garage queen - low miles, like new. The Horizon Blue is classic - it's retro and it reminds me of a metallic blue Mercedes paint color I remember from the 1970's. I thought it was understated and invisible when I first saw it, but it's grown on me and now I love it. Wouldn't want any other color.

So do you have a picture of your new car? I always wanted a blue mini and I am glad I got this shade of it. I don't think I seen one this shade before I saw my car.

OK, I said I was take a photo when I got a chance...my wife and I took one of our sons and drove "The Dragon", US 129 last weekend. I think we're going back for "MINIs on the Dragon" in a couple of weeks...probably will go on May 2nd. Anyway, here is a shot that somebody along that route took and it shows off the color of the Blue Horizon Metallic very well. I don't know the folks in the car with us, but it was fun riding it with another MINI. Best wishes, B

I will be transferring to Fort Campbell soon. I was wondering if "Minis on the Dragon" was worth the drive across the state. Maybe, my husband and I will go next year.

I am trying to black out my horizon blue mini cooper s:

My mini's name is Delilah. She is a 2010 Mini Cooper S. My husband and I were working on the brakes over the weekend and I realized that she was abused by her old owner. At least, she is in loving home now, :p.

We've never done "MINIs on the Dragon" before, and we're not officially staying over in Fontana with the crowd. However we're planning to drive over on Friday morning with the Smoky Mtn MINI Club. There is a "Parade on the Dragon" that morning with over 600 MINIs driving from the NC side toward TN. We are going to drive opposite of the 600 to check out all the cars, then go see the vendor booths at Fontana. I'm sure we'll post some photos! B

I just ran a calculation...if there were 600 MINIs on the Dragon at one time they would be less than 100 feet apart!

Let me figure out how and I'll post one. Thanks for the interest! The blackout on your S looks great - looks like the car's in perfect condition.

if you have a picture of your mini on facebook. You can right click it and click on copy image url. When you are typing your reply on the board you can click the picture icon aka mountain with the moon icon. It will ask you for the picture url and just paste the website address there.

Like so:

Look black rims!!

Definitely better quality than most small cars in America. This is my second mini. I already knew how great it is. Anyone else not liking the look of the gen 3 mini?

Add us to the list. We have a 2009 Clubman S. Bought it in September of 2012. Second owner. Love the car. Seems like a rare paint color, only ever seen one other car. We live in Calgary Alberta.

Yes, me. Gen 3 looks like the AMC Pacer. That's why I ran out and got mine!

Mini Hatch Won Me Over
I love my car so much, I can't get over it! It's a blast, it's cute and it rides well. I'm really impressed by the car's mechanical sophistication. Coming from a 1988 Mustang GT 5 speed, this thing's unbelievable. Love the way the windows drop when the car's unlocked and the solid sound of the door locks. Love the smoothness at idle - amazing for a little 4 cylinder. Love the solidness of the switch gear and the sophistication of the information system. The sunroof's a joy. Love the 6 speed manual and Sport mode. All unexpected - I thought it would be a knock-around 4 banger. Now it's become my pampered baby. And it's a base model!

At the time I bought the '10 6 speed, my neighbor's friend was selling a black '06 5 speed with 19,000 miles. Too bad my partner only drives automatic - otherwise, I'd buy that one too! I'm curious now about the first gen MINIs, and how they differ driving-wise from the 2nd gen. What's the difference?

I had a 06 Mini Cooper with automatic trans. Now, I have a 10 Mini Cooper S with automatic trans. 06 was smoother probably because it didn't have an turbo. Both run great.
