MINI turns 50 birthday tribute

Look for a couple great events with PittStopMINI during July (Mini racing and Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix) and August (50th Mini Anniversary "event").

Both events are in the works and details / registration are still being worked out, but we WILL be celebrating the 50th in a big way. A couple big ways.

By the way, does anyone have access to a blimp?

One thing im a little upset about , MINI released to the UK market a very nice "50 years of MINI" shirts but i dont see them on the USA site darnit

It's the 50th birthday of the commercial introduction of the car.

It's an all year thing....but anniversary of the actual launch date is in August.

August 26th, it's a Wednesday this year. That's making the celebration tough - do we do it the weekend BEFORE? Or do we miss the actual date and do it the weekend AFTER?

MC2 did a nice article on the "birth" of the Mini - I scanned it but it's over the 5MB limit for attachments on NAM. I can be PM'd.

I made up an anniversary graphic for my MINI, too...just have to get it produced. I did the same thing in 2004 for the Monte-victory anniversary.

Actually because of the amount of pre-BMW Mini models, it will always be a work in progress...this graphic has a few that were missing from the first...
