I blame the cat

I am watching my sisters cat while she is away. The plow had been by so the snow was pretty thick at the end of the driveway but I made it through no problem thanks to my snow tires. I feed the cat and head back home or so I think. As I back out of the driveway I get stuck. I tried going forward again but I was not budging. I tried to dig Billy out but no success. I called a friend to push me out he and two of his kids(teens) could not move Billy. I realized I was high centered on the hard packed snow. We started to make progress with carpets and kitty litter for traction luckily we realized going backwards was a bad thing before it was too late, Billy would not look good without a front bumper. I don't think anything broke but it did take an hour to get unstuck and I was not very happy.
I should have shoveled the end of the driveway but I had driven around all day in deep snow without issue, I think what got me was the dip at the end of the driveway.
Do they make a lift kit for the winter?

Sorry to hear you got stuck. But you are right in blaming the cat. It is all the cats fault.

How long did you spend in your sister's house taking care of the cat? What may have happened, happened to me several years ago. I parked my car, after a short drive through fairly deep fresh snow, went indoors for half an hour or so and when I tried to drive away, the car wouldn't move. I discovered that the heated exhaust system had melted the snow, cooled off enough to re-freeze the bottom of the car to the whole world. I tried everything you did including jacking the car enough to get something under the wheels, nearly broke the jack. That is when I discovered the problem.

As an experienced "cat person" I just want to point out that your sister's cat was likely sitting in the window sill watching the whole car extraction evolution.

I'll bet this cat took great bliss and satisfaction in your situation, and was a bit annoyed that you took so long to excuse yourself from his/her presence.

I was in the house less than five minutes everything was still nice and warm when I got back outside.
