Do you consider the MINI a woman's car?
I wonder what the demographics is of 1)Cooper owners, 2)Cooper S and Cooper JCW? With the intro of the Clubman, it may look like Mini is focusing to more main stream....then I got buzzed the other day by a Clubman JCW, and forgot that idea......
I think we should start our own Top 10 List of Girlie Cars. I'll start (again just another random idiot's opinion!) -
10. Any 2wd SUV
9. ALL minivans
8. Volvo's, Saabs and Peugots (all lumped together)
7. Porsche Boxters (I personally know several women who own them . . .)
6. Any 3/4 ton truck without a diesel engine (guy's trucks need to smoke and stink)
5. Cadillacs (except the cowboy convertible ones with the big horns on the hood and 6-shooters for door handles - Roy Rogers was not a girl)
4. All hybrids. Period.
3. Jeeps with little tires.
2. Mary Kay Cadillacs (I guess this was covered by No. 5 above but these deserve special recognition as girlie cars)
1. Any car driven by a woman with "big hair"
What cars makes your list??

Also there is a classic J-20 ,, no deisel available but still A classic beauty.

Well I take offense with #6
. I've purchased 2 3/4 ton trucks and neither of them were diesel. The number one reason is that the trucks were used as commuter vehicles as well as for towing horses, and short distance driving tends to clog the injectors on a diesel and is not covered under warrenty. The second reason was that my husband said he would divorce me if I came home in a diesel because he didn't want to have to hear it. Now if I had only had more money to spend, I would have brought home the diesel version.
Peggy - happy with her hemi

I wouldn't say its a chick car. Really, all the women I know, love the car because its cute, and quirky and has really neat styling inside and out. All my car guy friends, yeah, they dig the driving aspect. Most of them are rather impressed even. Some going so far as to reconsider their next purchases.
So I'd say its just an awesome small car.

Anyone catch the voice of the actor doing the voiceover for one the big three's (I forget which) truck commercials getting a lot of air time lately? It is the deepest, most gravelly voice I have ever heard, signifying, I guess, that you have to be a "real man" to drive this truck (or smoke an awful lot of cigarettes).
You don't drive a mini to demonstrate your gender identity.

...unless you're a dude driving a beetle. Everyone I know that drives a beetle is either female or gay (seriously, I'm not trying to be lewd).
I hope your refering to the "new beetles".I've built and raced several classic beetles the last being a '66 with a 2232cc turbo stroker.Sounds like you hang out with a different crowd there slim. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
Don't diss the new beetle. The new beetle was my first choice for a new car. Unfortunatly I found out the reliability and poor VW dealerships around here were not worth it. Mini was my second choice.
Those new beetles are phat looking! I still like them even though they're not as reliable as the new Mini.

Any car with a place for flowers... not a dude car
.
In the past, I would get pretty annoyed when women comment on how cute my Mini was, even after being blacked out(which I feel makes it look more mean). In addition, one of the other doctors I work with commented on how the Mini would not be able to keep up with Nissan Xterra.
However, both issues have passed. Women commenting on the vehicle is actually a good thing. I've had more good looking women come up to me about the Mini than in my previous vehicles. As for the doctor's comment- I left him and his Xterra behind when there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground.
4WD Xterra- 0
FWD Mini- 1
So no, I don't believe it's a woman's car. Although, I'd be hard pressed to see a guy in the new VW Bettle and say that looks good.

- nice. Yeah, my dad has an Xterra. It's no contest. He couldn't even keep up with my old R50. And I also noticed (almost immediately) when I got my first MINI that it was chick magnet. In fact, I dated a few girls that I met that way.
