Never get a wave!
Never get a wave!
So I am sad to say I never get waves from other minis anymore, only on a rare occasion. I am wondering if it could be because people are buying them simply for the gas mileage not for the religion of being a mini owner. Sad I tell you. Don't they get it, you wave! Has anyone else noticed this?

I have noticed that too that people don't even see me. I always see minis going the other way. It is becoming a sad mini world!!!

If my hands are free, I always wave! I have found if you can catch the other MINI motorer's eyes, you usually get a reaction. Also, I've noticed I get more reactions from those with personalized plates.
All the time!
I have had the car only 5 weeks. I would say 40% of the time if I see a MINI in the opposing direction, I am always waved at and starting to get in the habit myself. I am completely entertained. It almost always occurs when I am driving thru the canyons - here in Southern California, that's Topanga Canyon, Malibu Canyon, Kanan Road, and the Chatsworth Reservoir area. It is happening elsewhere as well in West Hills and Porter Ranch.
If you are in a Porsche, BMW, or Benz it'll probably never happen. The MINI just has character. Cheers!

I missed seeing another MINI today, but my Husband did and HE waved...I think he said the other guy was just admiring Molly, and did not wave back!! I find that most other drivers are pre-occupied (ON THE ***** PHONE!!!). Hands-free driving has now become Law in WA, but do you think anyone really paid attention...NO!! Or they don't give a RIP!! I've flashed my lights, HONKed, and Waved...sometimes to no avail, other times I get the wave. Keep the WAVE alive...even if it seems futile!!
Well, here's a video for you to enjoy in a couple months over there in PA:

I was on campus a couple of weeks ago (Campus - university of central florida = a major commuter school in orlando) and I saw two MINI's and their owners waved. Both of them. I thought it was strange but it was great to see a wave!

I try to wave at those on the opposite side of the freeway, but it's usually too late.
If I'm on the Blue Ridge Parkway I almost always get a wave.
If I'm in the downtown Asheville area, or on the interstate, I'd say I get a wave 40% of the time. I wave, hi beam, beep, hell I practically jump outta the sunroof!

In the last three days I've had three cars slow down to let me pass so they could ogle the MINI and four common cars wave. Of course, here in Bama, folks wave quite often at strangers, but they usually don't smile.
