Vanity plates are not vain on a MINI!

I have noticed something really cool about MINI owners, and their so-called vanity plates.

We MINI owners tend to use these plates to actually name our car's, as if to bring them to life and give them their own personality as an entity unto itself. People with "Other" types of vehicles almost always use these plates for a lame saying, or for their own personal nick names/names.

Last night on my way to work I was in a two MINI convoy all the way down the freeway to my exit. This MINI's name was "Chadwic". If you are on these forums, my lil, Zigy, was very happy to meet you on the road like that, Chadwic.

Agreed - and a good observation, generally true IMHO. We'd need some official research to know for sure - perhaps a cruise of the vanity plate threads? Or posting to this thread to confirm or deny?

Unfortunately, my plate simply identifies my MCS as a registered vehicle to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania...

Hey Froglips,
Don't know where you are located in AZ, but come and check us out sometime! www.dynamicminicollective.org

We have quite a few fun runs coming up in the next few weeks (one locally here in town and another weekend/overnight fun run up north). That is, if you really wanna see a local mini convoy!

Oh, I don't know....I've had "vanity" plates on my vehicles for years now - seven or eight years now, and none of them referred to the vehicle's name.

My truck (F150) had a weird plate at first, but it made sense to me: STRONGA. It was the first new vehicle I ever purchased completely on my own (no help, no co-signers, etc.), and I had just gotten out of a pretty heart-breaking relationship but I was doing really well getting back to real life...so to me, it referred to "Whatever doesn't kill me, only makes me stronger." In a warped way since "strongr" was already taken in Ohio.

Now, I've done more of a play on words/creative twist to the plates. I still have the F150, but it says, TRUUBLE now. And my MINI plates say x UHOH x....as in UHOH, TROUBLE!! or vice versa TROUBLE, UHOH!! And they're funny if they stand alone, too. (I had to use the x as spacers to make it work.)

My tag identifies our Happy Place for me, my daugther and the MINI (DILLIGAD).

Everyone needs a Happy Place to go to mentally when you're not able to escape everyday life.
If you haven't already figured it out, MOTD129 = MINI's On The Dragon / 129 is the highway that the Dragon is on.
