On the way up to Providence today from Jersey, I saw a dozen MINIs and four of them were Chili Red. In Providence I saw four MINIs and one was CR.

A good day.

39 total.

7 in the AM, 32 on my bike ride.

Will post pics later.

BAD NEWS: That PW MINI S that was new, but just got his plates, I checked it out tonight. The driver side door had black marks and possibly door dings. This is just really sad news. Took some close up pics and will see if they show the damage. It was near dark so not sure how the pics turned out.

This is one of the reasons why I looked in the SF Bay Area when I was shopping around for a used MINI. They are EVERYWHERE. Plus, my uncle lives in Daly City - which isn't too far at all.

SF is one of my favorite places to visit!

Well, I just got home from my trip into San Francisco and I've fallen in love with my MINI all over again! This car is incredible. I'm so glad I bought it. This was the first time I took it on a long drive and I found it very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by how it held itself stationary on inclines. You don't budge until you engage the clutch. I was on California Avenue a couple of times (which seems like it's pitched at a 45 degree angle) and never once did the car slip or roll when the time came for me to get going. Amazing!

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I also saw a bunch of MINIs around town today. They're such a GREAT city car. MINIs are small, nimble and spirited. Everything you could want for a metro runabout!

Here's the view from the top of the San Fran Hilton:

(How many MINIs can you see from here?)

I've got to share this with y'all...

Here's a model of one of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen ships of the type that transported our MINIs to the U.S.:

I spotted it in Chinatown and got a kick out of it. I have no idea WHY it was there on display, but I thought it was cool that I came across it.

Question is, how many tiny MINIs did you see on the ship?

Yeah, right! They'd have to be 1:87th scale.

So today I saw a MINI with a guy driving it with a license plate that started with BBWxxx. If I was him at the DMV and they were going to issue a plate with those letters I would complain big time! Oh the plate came from Kansas.

I saw a lot on sunday in ellicot city. I think it was around 10 through out the day, 8 of them waved to me. It was my friends 2nd time in the MINI and she thought it was cute that random strangers were waving to each other because of their car.

This is one of my new obsessions. Even though I am still waiting on my car to arrive ill speed up to 90 or more if necessary on the freeway to check out a Mini. I hunt them in parking lots when i walk through. So yesterday i saw 5 in the short time i was out 1 CR, 2 PW, 2 AB

At lunchtime in Manhattan today, I saw four MINIs while walking with my friend to a restaurant: CR/B, CR/W, LB/B with bonnet stripes and MY/B with bonnet stripes.

I spotted a CR/B MCS on the highway as it passed me. Then saw a CR/W MC at a turn lane. I also saw my MINI in a parking lot, but it took me a second to realize it was mine.

There's a gold MC in my townhouse complex sometimes, but I'll be the first MCS. I occasionally see a LaB MCSc and a white MC on Rt21 / McCarter Highway on the way home from work.

Since I live in the DC area, I usually see 1 or 2 MINIs every 2 or 3 days. But for some reason, my drive home last night was MINImania. I saw 2 going my way on Rt. 198. I turned around because of traffic and then saw a beautiful blue convertible with white stripes on the BW Parkway. Then I saw 2 more coupes on my way to the Lowes. That was a record! All coupes except the vert.

Last week I was in San Francisco. MINIs everywhere. On Sunday at about 6 am, I saw 5 or 6 of them in a line zipping down the Embarcadero. One Clubman and the rest coupes. Then saw another Clubman on the Embarcadero. I actually got a picture of it on my phone, but can't figure out how to get it on my computer!!

MINIs, MINIs, everywhere!

Hey people, remember:

Try to post pics if you can. It gives me pleasure to see MINIs in action. Thank you in advance for attending to my perversions.

Here's the pics from Sept 13 and 14 2008 that I did not have time to post.

Some really nice MINIs were out and about or tucked in for the night, that is,
as "tucked in" as a MINI can be parked out in the cold, damp environment .

You know, Michael, I wonder how many of these are repeats? I mean, if you're more or less taking the same routes, are you counting the same ones? I will be REAAAAAALLY impressed if you're not only taking pictures of these cars on the fly, but taking down their plate numbers to keep record!!!

Oh, OK, that's what I'll do, take another few hours writing down plate numbers so that I can impress you.

It already takes about an 2 extra hours to do all this [between the extra riding, photo edits and posting.] So now couch potato, armchair detective conspiracy theorists and self-appointed thread watchdogs have questions and mental slob demands? Sheesh.

But since you did not comprehend the posts, the daily count are repeats. There was simply no double counting in a 24 hour period.

If you meant the pics are repeats, I state which ones are repeats. And the pics are [were] for enjoyment, NOT confirmation of "hey here is another MINI and a new one to the count."

And if you look at the pics you will see where I came up with the idea to leave the first number of the plate, and later last number too, so to show the pics were repeats or not. [That was my idea, not from NAM rules on posting MINI sightings.]

And even if they were repeats, so what? Maybe I should give you a refund on how much you paid for viewing the thread? You really should not let it bug you.

This was kind of ridiculous anyway. I don't want to think of how many hours I put into all this [and on other parts of NAM.] Well, at least from here on I will save a lot of time.

No more for me.

WHOAH, Chill, babe! I was just musing! I am totally impressed with your collection of photos, impressions, and trips, especially since I haven't been able to do more than wave at other MINIs, much less take pics and keep updates...And, if you notice please, I often chime into this thread, so it's not like I'm not noticing (and appreciating) all your hard work! Keep rolling with whatcha got.... !!

And for the record, I am not a couch potato, nor thread watchdog.
