I just noticed that my one day old MINI has a small crease in the bonnet stripe. It's right at the top of the left stripe, near the corner. Is there any way to flatten it out, or am I stuck with it?

I was thinking a hair dryer could loosen it up a bit and let me move it? No?

 

You're stuck with it. If you try to lift it and stretch it, it will not go back straight or will tear or stretch out.

 

Gotcha. Guess I'll just have to leave it, then...

 

Since it's a day old, it might have been just installed. Let the dealer fix it. I've installed my stripes two or three times and it's usually not perfect at first. I've massaged it or pressed down repeatedly and it has worked out. It was a risk I was willing to take. I think I also used a hair dryer to even it out/soften it up. Unless the stripe is wet during initial installation, lifting or pulling will stretch and probably ruin the stripe.

 

Call CF on Monday & let them know what you found--they'll fix it as quickly as possible.

In fact, you may want to give your MINI a good inspection to see if anything else needs to be fixed.

Erika is right. I had a wrinkle in one of my sport stripes that was installed by the VDC. Complained about it when I was ready to put the clear bra on and my dealer immediately replaced the stripe. No problems.
