My VIN worked fine ('08 MC)

Just ordered mine. 04 MCS.
Make sure you capitalize the letters in your VIN.

 

I had to enter my VIN 3 times before it took it.

It didn't work until I capitalized the letters.

Where is the forbidden flap?

 

The flap is inside the black box that Mini sent with all the goodies in it.

 

OK guys....maybe I"m just being overly blonde (this would be funnier if you knew I have black hair) but I CAN NOT get this to work with my VIN!! I've double checked my VIN three times, and tried it repeatedly - seven times with caps on, six times with caps OFF, and every other variation I could think of...Has anybody tried it lately? Maybe it's offline or something?? ARGHHHH!!!!

Just tried mine and it worked. It then opens a popup window showing the toggle switch stickers. You click a button to continue and it asks for your name/address. I had to open the name/address part in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox to get it to work though.

 

Make sure you don't have a popup blocker on. I just tried mine and it worked!

My VIN worked...'08 MCS.....I inputted all caps.

 

How much does it end up costing in total (i.e., for shipping, in addition to the .89 it shows) and how do you make payment? Assuming it can be used on a Clubman as well, so long as the toggle banks are the same.

 

No request for payment was made.

The sticker looked more 1st Gen gunmetal gray vs 2d Gen silver. When it shows up I'll propose it to the SO for approval....

Popup blocker isn't my enemy this time...the original MINIUSA small popup (where you enter the VIN) is what "processes" and then returns with an error message that says my VIN is not accepted. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF AVID AND ENTHUSIASTIC MINI-ING, AND MINTS AND I ARE NOW REJECTED BY MINIUSA???????

 

I was rejected too! Tried at least 5 times so far, and after inputting my VIN each time (using both caps and no caps), the message comes back that my "VIN didn't work, try again".

Well, I finally got my adventure/welcome kit and it is a pretty cool piece of marketing.

I also got the toggle switches but they are sized to fit the first generation MINI's and won;t work on the Clubman.

Oh well, I have a guy who makes vinyl stickers so maybe I just have him make up a set that will fit the Clubman.

If anyone out there wants the toggle switch labels i would be willing to trace for some other small piece of MINI swag. (Keeping in mind that these were free, I could trade them for something else that someone else got for free and can't use...)

 

Oh, and my welcome kit came with a ZUG boot sticker. I have the Sport Stripes so I am not sure I will be able to stick that either....

 

I got an extra NAM sticker for free....? Can we trade?
