Actually, that's the 1 millionth MINI exported (from the UK factory), not actually sold. That number does not include UK sales.

MINI International crossed the 1 million mark for worldwide sales last April. They even made a totally unique special edition unit for the occasion.

Did you guys note the link to "Motor show" -- not sure what the HECK is up with that, but for some reason I don't equate dancers with cars. Weird and smacks of unnecessary flashy flashy.

 

I'm very gratified to know that Top Gear's "ugliest car of the year" was able to contribute so robustly to this noteworthy milestone. I suppose, based on this, that not everyone shares their opinion.....perhaps not even them.

 

Oh don't worry even with the increased Mini sales the last few months Mini owns 0.4% of the US market.

Yes, YTD end of june they have 26,400 total sales USA. The only notable brands that have sold less is Land Rover, Jaguar, Porsche and Saab. Honda Civic is more than 200,000 YTD already.
