My MINI is officially ordered

Great news! I just got confirmation today that my mini is officially ordered.

Long story, but I was contacted by Richey at Nashville Mini and he has been very helpful. Saved me a little money and service has been top notch.

There was a slight hitch we caught after the order was placed. I want checkerboard roof and thankfully Richey told me while I was building the car that the roof for checkerboard needed to be white because of the decal. I called him up -- no sweat -- and we placed a new order for the correct white on the roof.

Woot! My production order number still has a strange color and everything, but I'm on my way to motoring.

The next 6 or so weeks should go by very slowly. :P

Dang.... So the first order was put in last Wednesday and it was scheduled for production within like 48 hours. When he had to fundamentally change my order and thus replace it with a new order, it must have gotten in behind a surge of other orders because it's sitting in 'order in' now with no movement toward scheduling.

My first order would have been being built by now! :(

Methinks they should never have put a tracking system in for us to obsess over. :P

Congrats on your new MINI! I think that they got behind due to Spain's trucker gas price protest. The Oxford plant couldn't get the needed parts.

Does anyone know if the Mini production facilities operate 24/7 or if it is just a daytime operation? My order switched over from having a generic wrong color placeholder to having my accurate specs sometime in the middle of the night English time.

Congrats msduncan!

One little thing though... Help us out please so that we can live vicariously through you. What kind of MINI have you ordered? MC or MCS? How about the color, specs, etc.

Oh, and one more little thing... Don't forget to share with your NAMily and post pics when you take delivery!

Enjoy & Motor On!

From what I read on the MiniUSA site it's a 3-shift, 24/7 operation when they aren't closed for Spanish fuel strikes...
