I lucked out and only had to trim a few pieces that ran around some exposed plumbing and a door frame. I still have to put the edge on the entrance to the garage.

I bought them at Home Depot. Not too expensive and they have a TON of space inside.

Really nice looking garage

The premium ones can cost upwards of $5 per square foot. I think these were around $1.80 per square foot ( http://www.floorjunkies.com/ ). They were very easy to install and easy to cut with a utility knife.
$1.80 a sq.ft seems reasonable for the end result.

So these tiles have no give . Is it similar to walking on the concrete.

The ones you have are they textured. The website seems to have a couple of options like diamond track. Which texture did you go with. Does texture make it harder to sweep up ?

I really like the look of the checkered floor.

The Sears Craftsman catalog is a plethora of garage ideas. The floors, the boxes, cabinets, everything.

That is one incredible garage! I especially like the aluminum cabinets. Is a hydraulic lift in the future??? That would be totally bitchin.

There is a bit more give than concrete, but these tiles are a fairly hard plastic. As I said, you can buy a softer vinyl, but it will cost. In the end, it didn't seem worth it to me to spend three grand on a garage floor, but you may feel differently.

As to the texture, I got the coin texture mostly because the wife didn't like the diamond texture. She thought it looked more industrial. I just installed it yesterday, so I don't know how hard it will be to sweep.

Looking at the Craftsman floor tiles and they look like the same type that I have, only more expensive.

Awesome! I was thinking you had great taste and when I scrolled down to see the car, I KNEW you had great taste.

Seriously, the garage looks great. We had black and white tile in our garage before we moved...I'm hoping to set it up again at the new place.

Looks great!

I love the floor... Unfortunately, I worry about how well it would hold up undr my scissor lift... and it would still cost almsot $3000 to tile our garage... We're still not sure what flooring we'll go with... but leaning towards a POR-15 product.

Hint: one of the best "garage-mods" we've done recently was adding a 10'x10' shed (maximum allowed in twp w/o a permit and zoning review)... which now houses all yard-related tools as well as big tools (engine hoist and tranny jack) that are rarely used as well as the snow blower during the off-season. This really opened up floor and wall space for proper car-related stuff.

There's a couple of them floating around the board. If you can't find one of them, start another !

Hey thanks so much for sharing your awesome garage, and the information on the tiles, they look fantastic!
We just built a 'MINI' garage last year, as I was continually getting tree sap on my car. The dimensions are only 12X16, which out here (Idaho) does not require a permit of any kind. The building and zoning people consider it a shed, as it is not "big enough for a car".
I was going to stain and somehow polish the concrete floor, but after seeing how yours looks, I might have to go with the tile. Shouldn't cost too much for a 'shed'!
