These are pretty good...not great but fun to watch imo.

BMW films! There's a season 1 and a season 2.

Bullit, original Gone in 60 Seconds, original Italian Job, Deathproof (it wasn't a movie, it was an excuse for a really cool chase) and Ronin. The BMW chase films were also really good.

Other good racing/car based movies (not really a chase): Grand Prix, LeMans, Days of Thunder (you have to admit, the rental car race was fun and the look on the valet's face when they pull up is timeless)....there's a lot fo good chases and racing movies I'm sure I'm forgetting.

We just saw Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid, William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Forrest Whitaker, and others. Takes place in Spain. Great chase sequence with Quaid as the pursuer.

Yeah, I have to agree on that one, great chase, and it's like 4o minutes long.

I'm a diehard Mopar fan and when that black Charger pulls out of the garage, it sends a chill down my spine.
"We're takin' the Charger?"
"We're not gonna catch him in a dog pie Chevy. It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar"

Some very good movies mentioned here. "Le Mans" and "Gran Prix" are the simply the best two auto racing movies made. We will probably never see that kind of amazing cinematography and attention to detail again! ...And yes, the closing minutes of "Le Mans" with the Ferrari and two Porsches was one of the best "chase scenes" ever put on flim!

Bullett. There is no substitute. No CGI, no speeded up film, no defying the laws of physics, and no "arranged" stunts (placing some kind of ramp or explosive to make a car doing something impossible). Pure horsepower and San Francisco hills.

Honorable mention: The last two laps in LeMans. McQueen chasing down the Ferrari.

Take peek at this. I've got the DVD and there are some excellent chase scenes. I think this link ties them all up in one nice neat package...

Ronin, LeMans.

Very seldom a movie can get your pulse going.

How about the Ferrari chase in "The Hidden" from '87. Some might remember the alien that couldn't be killed with preference for exotic cars!

I'd go with Vanishing Point, but that has already been mentioned multiple times. I really liked Duel, with the Plymouth Valiant being methodically chased by the fuel truck. The suspense was outstanding!

No mention of Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry?

And how about the opening chase scene from the original Mad Max movie with Mr. Sensitivity himself:

It is pretty creepy the first time you watch it even though it's also cheesy.

That old Valiant took a beating but...well, I won't give it away. Youtube will do that.

I dont think Stuntman Mike died... If you watch close, you see that in the beginning of the movie he has a scar, roll cage, etc. but as the movie continues and he plays the cat and mouse game, he doesnt have the scar (that he gets from being stepped on),or the cage in his car. Tarantino filmed the movie backwards.
