Door dings - literally how hard...

So far so good with my MINI - no door dings, but that's because she rarely gets out. On the otherhand, my other cars, and now my RS4 just got her first door ding last night, F#CK!!!! I parked at restaurant (Chili's) and got home and saw a deep door ding. I'll try to take pics this weekend, looks like a bullet wound.

How f#cken hard/wide does someone have to open their door to get in/out? I have a friend who is 6'7 tall about 300lbs. drives a beatup truck and he opens his door with the lightest touch. Sorry, sometimes I feel other people open doors hard on purpose.

That's nuttin'

That's nuttin'

I parked at a rest' one next to a pick-up with big a** tires.

Came out to find the entire side of my car caved in with rubber rub marks....

Did he leave a note? Ya, right

(no this was not on one of my MiNi's)

Insurance covered it and my rates did not go up...

I have "The Ding King" on speed dial on my phone. He comes out annually and takes all the door dings out of my cars. Last year I only had one, but previous years have seen at least one in each car. $50 a panel and worth every dime.

I think it's the kiddies in the back seat who kick open the doors. That rear door has a point on it.

To be fair, I was getting out at the grocery store once and when I opened my car door (not the MINI) the wind grabbed it and slammed it into the car next to me. To my embarrassment there was an elderly man in the car. He got out and I apologized profusely, and he said it was OK. I was probably parked to close in the first place, but grocery store spots aren't known for being wide.

I do have a few dings in my MINI; I hate parking lots but sometimes I just can't avoid them.

Sorry to hear about the door ding !
Any more, I let the Wife out of the car when we get to a restaurant or mall etc,I then go and do my best to try and find secluded parking spot. I won't park in these tight parking spots because I know I will come out and find damage.

Just yesterday my Wife was driving back to work (in her car) from lunch and a car rear ended her. The kid signaled for her to pull into a gas station around the corner and then as she drove in, he took off. Nice ! Now we have two marks from his licence plate and a nice scuff to deal with. Stuff like this is a sign of the times I'm afraid !
