Differences in gas mileage?
Differences in gas mileage?
Has anyone noticed a difference in gas mileage driving on different types of pavements? I was driving from where I live through Dallas and a litle bit west (on paved concrete) and averaging 36 mpg, then I reset it when I got onto the interstate which was asphalt and was getting 30 mpg. I was doing the same speed the whole time.
Any other factors involved here? Speed, wind (head or tail), temps, different gas, etc... Rolling resistance would the what you are suggesting, but that seems highly unlikely to see such a big change like that. Something else must be at work here...
