Neato compliments... tell your story!
Neato compliments... tell your story!
I'm sure there's a thread about compliments you've received about your MINI, and if so.. here's another!
I've gotten more compliments on my R56 MINI than any car I've ever owned, which isn't surprising since it's easily the coolest car I've ever had, and my first new car...
The first night I got gas I was asked, by a young guy driving a 02 Honda Civic SI "is it everything you hoped it would be?"
To which I replied... "it's sooo much more than I'd hope for."
Or another time, just a few weeks ago, I was on a road trip for work and got gas in a very small town, and an old couple, maybe in their 80s, walked out of the little local gas station, and, nervously, the man came up and asked me what kind of car I was driving.
"It's a MINI Cooper."
"Where are those from?"
"England."
"Ohh, Oxford, right? I've always liked those. I can see the resemblance now!"
It led to a neat conversation about cars and rally racing with a nice old man who'd done a hell of a lot more traveling than I have, who I'd totally not have thought was as world-worn.
I've had lots of great moments, in parking lots, getting gas, thumbs up on the highway, etc. Definitely part of that "motoring" experience we all talk about.
So what's your story?

Not much of a story, but a good friend at work (not a car guy- drives a Buick
), as we were walking into work one day not long ago, said to me: "you must drive TO work every day with a huge grin on your face." And my reply was, of course, "you better believe I do!"
