Hope the damage isn't too severe and they didn't take anything that's irreplaceable !

If you haven't called the police, do so. Next call: Your insurance company.

Good luck !

So ..... What was stolen? I-Pods and GPS systems seem to be the new targets. I seriously doubt the cops will print your car. They will just write up the report so you have something for the insurance company.

Sorry to read this...Uggggg..... I hope nothing of great value was stolen. It stinks that now you have to go through all this heartache to get it fixed, etc. etc.

Sorry to hear about this. This is something that really ticks me off.

They probably won't take prints as it would be almost impossible to identify all the prints that could be on/in the car since the majority of the population has never been fingerprinted. Another factor is that most surfaces on the interior of a car are not good for getting prints the conventional way, and you don't want them using the other methods on your car(think super glue). Also, you don't want fingerprint powder all over your car. It is a major PIA to clean up.

so far from what I have seen are:

Nav
ipod
workbag
w/ mort refi, w-2's, pay stubs, ss#'s multiple flash drives, loop

looks like they were after the Nav whgich was in the glove compartment but he holder/mount was in the window. so the Nav itself was not visible. niether was the Ipod in that case, it was in the door pocket under a bunch of crap. but the ice-link was connected to the radio.

they left 2 buck in the glove compartment, my camera, and video camera behind my seat, which were under my work bag.

they were after one thing then got out asap.

I can't remember what else was in my bag. Time to cancel credit cards.

Well the cop came by and took prints but only got a partial. He figures they were probably wearing gloves anyway, it was pretty cold last night.

According to him there were a few cars broken into within the immediate area. At-least I don't feel like I was targeted.

I wonder how many people would break into cars if they knew the punishment was not jail time, but removeal of a hand? Preferably the right...

Sorry to hear about the break-in. That SUCKS. :impatient
Might be time to look into the OEM alarm. Even if you just get the stalk, you get a flashing red light, which might be enough to deter the @#$%^& who did it this time.

ya. I always keep stuff out of site. I guess the Nav mount/holder in the window made them take the chance on the break-in.

I usually don't keep a vid camera in the car but i forgot it in there after I went to Helix the other day. My bag is usally behind the seat, nav is in the glove box, i-pod is in the door pocket under a beanie. If they would have spent another minute looking around they would have hit the mother load.

this sux.

worst feeling. i had my gps stolen on a busy street in new york city within hours of parking. my flashing alarm light did nothing to deter the punk. i had my gps stupidly in plain sight on my Kuda mount. fortunately, he/she didn't see or cared about my headliner mounted radar detector.

Since all the break-ins were in a certain area, it's very likely they spent an evening casing cars. You might have left something in view one night, which caused them to remember your poor mini.

Looks like the scratch on the door is superficial, unless it's hidden by that shine.

Damage could have been much worse. Not much consolation right now, I know. But someone posted pics a couple months ago and their door had been pried... caused a lot of damage, relatively speaking.

Hope your comp deductible is nice and low. This is one of the reasons I'm always preaching here on NAM to carry a 100 ded on comp. Too many comp claims are out of your control, like this one.

Damn, that sucks. You should get in contact with a credit bureau put a ID theft alert on your account. With what they took, they could steal your identity.

I was just about to post this. Agreed 100% - that info will be out there if the thieves aren't just street thugs

At least I have your stock injectors here safe and sound. Sucks man....hope it gets sorted out ASAP for you.

Poor baby :(
I heard the other day that thieves were going after cars that had the mark from the suction cup from the GPS, so even removing the whole thing wouldn't do you much good unless you had Windex wipes...
and who wants to do all that??
