To lower or not to lower?
Please don't take my non-lowering stance comments wrongly - just look at the Konky picture or Rally's mini - that's drool-worthy right there. Maybe it's my advanced years, but there's some point when "practicality" wins out.
There's also something to be said, for example, for switching from 205/45/17 to 215/45/17. It fills the wheel gap and increases gearing - not bad for balancing appearance and practicality, fuel econ and quieter cruising. While perhaps not technically good for being the autoross terror, you're going to have just as much fun out there!
(have to admit to scrolling back up to Rally's post just after typing that paragraph, it DOES look good! But, like a great looking gal in spike heels, there are perhaps some practicality and comfort tradeoffs... looks great though, and I'm not complaining about well-dressed people or fashion sense! Horses for courses....)

It's my daily driver up here in the dreaded northern Ohio winters....and it's still at that height but with steelies applied. Still no issues

Rally - you want to come to the PittStopMINI Club's winter driving event? 2/24 at BeaveRun, you can see how your stance handles some slippery stuff, instruction and a bunch of fun... including "closed course" practice, guaranteed no potholes or manhole covers! We'll have registration on the website soon.

. I'm slowly de-modding my car as I'm gonna be taking delivery of an r56 in late February or Early March
i get enough of the slippery stuff as I try to drive around town up here
Closed courses and driver's ed events are fun...
I totally agree....especially at beaverun. I love that track. I used to work with redline to set up the MINI time trial events there
