When did you decide it's time to change...

The day you purchased your MINI, how long (# of days/mos/yrs.) did it take you before you decided it's time to change the look/performance of your OEM MINI?

And second, for owners that couldn't wait until warranty expired, any bad experiences from your local dealer servicing your car?

I knew long before I ordered my MINI that she was destined to be modded! Her graphics were chosen months in advance. The day I picked her up she got her euro shelf, and the next day it was window tint...

O days to Auto-up module
10 months to rear sway
1 year to CAI
2 years to pulley

No service issues were mod related.

Ironically, about a month or two after getting our Coopers, I decided I wanted to paint the oval door inserts Chili Red. So I googled and got a hit on this site.

Never did paint those ovals but thanks to NAM, and all the good info I found here, there have been a few other aesthetic mods....

For the '03 MCS, I think she waited about 1 month before she changed the stripes... then another 2 months we added a Moss skid plate... In 1/04 , Euro parcel shelf... and ProMini intake... was about 3 years before the 15% pulley.

For our '07 MCc Sidewalk, we didn't wait at all. As soon as it was in the garage, tools were flying and parts came off. The car had less the 90 miles on it - the drive home from Prestige to Plainsboro. Granted, all of the mods were in the interior (plus stripes). I remember us standing in next to the car, interior in pieces, looking at each other and saying, "yep... we're insane..." :impatient

Gromit is about a year and a half old. After reading about mushrooming on here concerning 17" wheels, I installed the M7 SRP's right off. That was the only performance mod (if you want to call it that) I did. No graphics aside from the stripes that came with him.

I had a shorty antenna and a John Cooper sig badge waiting when my car arrived. The mods took 5-minutes. It's likely that I won't do any additional modding, as I carefully dialed in the car from the factory.

Same here! I had various mod parts coming in before my Mini arrived at the dealership. I had the wheels about two or three weeks before delivery day

I decided, a week before taking delivery, that I hated the stock, giant antenna. That's all I've done.

And short of miraculously finding $2100 for the JCW Tuning kit, that's all I'm going to do. Unless someone wants to donate some wheel/tire moneys to me

I had the dealer install/ swap my mods before taking delivery. (traded 03 for 06). My dealer is very mod friendly, so no issues there.
