Gotta get these things off my chest
my biggest issue with SUV's is the amount of gas they guzzle for only one person to be in the car 90% of the time.
It Irks me.
Goodbye 2007 and hello 3008 and many happy motoring miles!!!!

And here I thought the Brits were just being poseurs.
Throughout my years as a part of NAM, my personal opinion it for whatever reasons it seems to me (remember we are on the internet and personal opinions run rampant), that there is a higher percentage of Mini owners that carry concealed than in other groups I am a part of. Why is that? It strikes me as odd?
What you said might be true, but then again it might not be true. Or maybe MINI owners are more willing to admit that they carry concealed than the other groups you are a part of.
Personally, whether I carry or not is for me to know-not to post on the internet for the world to read. As posted previously, if you are carrying concealed and everyone knows, you've missed the point.
What scares me more is the person who carries concealed and thinks they're John Wayne. Shooting at a target on the range is a far cry from shooting at a person who is shooting back. Until you have been in a situation where your life is in serious danger, or the target is shooting back, you don't know how you will react or how well you can/will shoot. Just because you have training DOES NOT necessarily mean you know what you are doing. As an example, there are people who take the training to carry concealed, and have never owned or fired a handgun (or any other firearm) prior to taking the training. They pass the class and can now carry a concealed weapon. How proficient are they? Look at all the people who have drivers training and are still lousy drivers. Driving around every day-and looking around the threads on NAM-you will find that there are many poor drivers(at least by our standards
), yet I would be willing to bet every one of them thinks they know what they are doing and that they are good drivers. Now time to go motor, and get the stuff from the store out of the boot.

I have to agree with the original poster. We live in America and Americans call them hood and trunk. Just because we drive a car that was assembled in England does not mean we have to speak phony British. If I drove a car made in Russia, I would not adopt Russian slang and terminology. So, for all of you who enjoy saying bonnet and boot, that's fine with me, but I will stick with hood and trunk.
That's true...ya'd best get used to the bonnet/boot thing. It's not a MINI marketing gimmick, it's been part of the British sports car thing f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Go to a British car show...you'll see. And...if there ever was a British automotive icon, it's Mini/MINI. It's only posing is it isn't the real deal, but in this case it is...doesn't matter what country you're in. That said, you can certainly call it what you like, just know that this isn't some made-up thing.
I wonder how many residents of those towns refuse to wear seatbelts or wear motorcycle helmets because "the government can't tell me what to do" mentality yet will buy a gun because the city government told them they had to have one.
Also, concerning the Kansas town: the ordinance was passed in 2003, but not put in effect at the time the article was written 11/23/2003. The article doesn't say whether the ordinance still stands.

I was going to stir this pot but I don't have a big enough spoon. But don't tell me not to pronounce the "h" in schedule. . . . LOL
Hope you feel better now. . . .

Pretty obvious you are not from Texas...
Oh wow--what an optimist! I'm pretty sure I'll croak before 2050 (I'd be 100), and I can't imagine you lasting that much longer.
Then again, my father insists he will live to be 129. At his age (91) he still walks a couple of miles a day, so he might be right!

It would rhyme with sick, kick, rick, tick, and nick.
It's spotted because it has raisins and it's called **** because it's... well... shaped like one.
I never tried one. Just couldn't bring myself to order it. Plus, I'm not fond of raisins.
