Last time my Mini was in for service i was given a Neon for the day. It was quite possibly the worst car i have ever driven. Absolute garbage in every respect.

last year I got a bare bone MINI Cooper as a courtesy vehicle and I have to say it was quite a shock and disappointment compared to a loaded MCS. Pretty much felt like the cheap Neon that started this thread

Just about everything that you get from the rental places (either when traveling or if your MINI is in for service) is rubbish compared to a MINI

On recent trips, I've had an Aveo, Malibu, and PT Cruiser. I liked the Aveo the best of those three. When I finally got home, taking my MCS for a drive was like a second vacation from the torture of those POS cars. Last fall when my MCS was in for warranty issues, I had a brand new Nissan Sentra. That actually wasn't too bad, but I only had it for a few days before the dealer gave me a MC with CVT. I know I'll be branded as a heretic for typing this, but I almost liked the Nissan better. That CVT in the MC was terrible...

Luckily your time with a Neon is limited - all bad things will come to an end

Even a $17K bare-bones Cooper is head and shoulders better than a loaded Neon.

If you couldn't tell the difference, I'd say you need to drive a Neon again.

I'm still waiting for my MINI, but when my Jaguar was in for service at the dealer, they gave me a Taurus. They had better, but it would cost you.
