1. Mine is a 2003 MCS, about 58500 KM's, with a 11/2002 build

2. I have a 2003 MCS

3. It has been redesigned for the 2003 MCS, the part that Mini put on to replace the snapped control arm has been redesigned so they know there is an obvious flaw

Steve, if you read the threads, I'll have only good things to say about the MINI Canada 'helpline' if you can resolve this.

Here are other related control arm threads:

So here's my update. I called Transport Canada at 1-800-333-0510 and put in an official complaint. I would suggest you do the same also. The more logs of this issue the better.

Hope it all works out ok.

Thanks

Thanks Matt, I may take you up on the offer. My neighbourhood garage is looking for the two control arms and wheel bearing that BMW says need to be replaced.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how much or how little force it takes to damage the control arms. They (BMW) last had it on a lift in October, and I'm trying to remember if I have scuffed my tires on a curb in the meantime. I certainly never went sideways into one, but that seems to be the conclusion many want to jump to.

No biggie, and I"m happy to help if it's a help to you.
