I was into them way back. Anything you recommend since Dogman?

King's X - nice choice! They have some really great tunes, tho I haven't heard much after "Faith Hope Love". I've also checked out Ty Tabor's solo project. It's pretty good, a little mellower. If you like King's X, you'll probably like it.

Check out God Modules Cure Cover "A Night Like This" on the Viscera album then. That song just pulled me in. They are a Florida group. I am going to see them live in August, can't wait.

rooandren-

I think a safe bet would be their latest "Ogre Tones"; its a much more mainstream and poppy sounding album (similar to "Dogman"). A lot of people like "Ear Candy" and "Tapehead" (the two releases after "Dogman"). I'm pretty partial to "Please Come Home... Mr. Bulbous" (its a bit jazz-influenced and very non-mainstream). Ah, what the heck... it's all good!

I want to thank everyone for the great suggestions and the distraction. Talking about music was a welcome relief from wondering where the heck was my Mini. My Mini is now at the dealership and I'll be picking it up tomorrow after work - gotta finish burning my CD's!

I have an 07 with the standard audio. It plays MP3 discs. If you have iTunes go into 'Preferences' - 'Advanced' - 'Burning' and select 'MP3 disc'.
Now you can probably get about 120 songs on a CD-R disc. And if you fiddle with your audio menu it will even display the song title on your display.

some of my driving favorites:

The Only Ones: "Another Girl Another Planet"
any pre-1984 David Bowie
MC5: "Looking at You"
any good 60's mod/psych (the kinks, 13th floor elevators, chocolate watch band, etc)
sam cooke
Black Heart Procession's "Amore Del Tropico" album
Tom Waits' "rain dogs" album
Slayer "Decade of Agression"
Bonde Redhead "Misery is a butterfly"
Dead Meadow
Death Cult
Depeche Mode "Black Celebration"
late 80's/early 90's gangster rap
and some good instrumental bands for long drives (explosions in the sky, godspeed you black emperor, tortise, etc...)

I've got two album suggestions for LONG drives. These two got me from Anaheim to Reno and back ~9 hours each way. I listened to each of these albums nonstop, over and over. They are Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here and Poe - Haunted. They aren't full on rockers, which could be good for keeping the speed under control.
