SD Mode Steering

I have to believe this has already been discussed, but I my search comes up with too many irrelevant responses. If you know of a thread that answers my question, please let me know.

Anyway, I just finished the break-in period in my 2007 MCSCa, and I started using the SD mode and revving it up pretty high. It's a blast to drive. However, I'm noticing that the car handles in a significantly different manner in SD than it does in stardard auto mode. Is this normal? And if someone who knows more about car physics and steering than I do can explain what is going on, I'd appreciate it! It just feels to me that the steering is a lot looser and that there is more play in the steering wheel. But I don't know what I'm talking about, so I need some help. I'm afraid that I might try to go through some turns that I've handled for a month in auto mode, only to find the SD mode steering sends me crashing into a wall. YIKES!

Also, I need to get an oil change after the break in period, right? And this is not covered by MINI, right?
