I hit 110 mph numerous times this weekend.

I just wanted to brag about how my MINI loves to kick butt on the track!

I worked, and drove, this past weekend at Firebird Raceway's main track for Pro Auto Sports. I am learning Timing & Scoring so I could be useful, but I sign up for the intermediate sessions, which amount to four 20 min. rotations a day.

It's a bit frustrating to be following a Porsche 944 Turbo down the straight and not be able to pass, then follow on his bumper the whole way through the turns. I didn't try any passes in the corners, but I didn't want to hurt his ego that bad. A '55 Chevy pickup that's totally tricked out (from Prescott) was fun to hound through the corners, but bye bye on the straight!

The last session had a quick heavy downpour. A new owner of a Mitsubishi EVO MR played with me, along with a race MINI driven by a rookie. Sure it was dicey dodging the puddles on the apexs, but I'm so impressed with how well my MINI did. Yea I spun on one corner, but the EVO spun a few times also.

Anyway, I just wanted to let the world know how much fun MINIs are on the track. I hope some more Arizona members will try taking a High Performance Driving class and play with their MINIs!

It's way cheaper than flying (just what I want to do is go through security) to Germany.

Membership is $40. Don't know their current price for new members, but it's reasonable. But working on the course has its percs.
