Neck collar

Anyone used one of these: http://soloracer.com/pyrocollar.html It's a foam neck collar that is supposed to support the weight of the helmet... priced $50.

Any owners out there who can share their experiences? Thanks!!

I've never used one while driving a MINI, however when I go out to our local kart track, it is required to where one. They are quite comfortable actually.

I have a sparco version. Usually always required for any racing...either that or a HANS. Not too bad once you get used to them, just feels like you are wearing a sweatshirt around your neck, mobility is still mostly the same.. Its hotter and sucks on really hot days..but oh well

I imagine a Hans (or equivalent) would be cooler... I can do without the sweatshirt effect during hot summer track days.

I just ordered on of these for the next track day. My neck was sore for several days after the last day so I am hoping it will support the helmet better. Also, my instructor wore one in my car and a Hans in his car.

Safety is always a good thing.

For those who have worn them, how is head movement with one on? Can you still easily turn your head all around?

Never had a problem wearin one at the local kart track. Actually I've never noticed it being there while driving.

All the way around is subjective unless your that possessed chick. MOvement is restricted, but its not bad at all compared to a HANS
