Anyone going to the Brian Redman International Challenge this weekend at R/A?

Yeah, I'm going to be there shooting for Vintage Racecar Journal. I've been to Road America plenty of times but not for the BRIC; I'm looking forward to it!

This was a great race weekend at Road America, albeit a tad on the warm side :-) A lot of MINIs in attendance!

Btw, did anyone hear if everyone involved in the Trans Am pileup on Sunday was okay?

Here's a link to a site containing some pics from the weekend including the unfortunate accident on the front straight; fortunately no one was seriously injured.

I saw way too many Mini's, some were even out in the Touring sessions.

On Friday I was driving the Orange Solara Pace Car, Saturday and Sunday I was driving the Supra.

Traveling in from Dallas, I didn't have my Mini for the weekend, unfortunately.. It was a lot of fun though to see all the cars both in the paddock, on the track and the concourse events - although the incident on Sunday was definitely a downer.

I was there on Friday, and was surprised by how many other MINIs I saw.

It was a terrific event though it definitely was hot. The big Group 6 wreck was an unfortunate thing though, thankfully, it looks like no one was badly hurt. I was camped out in front of the Billy Mitchell Bridge waiting for them to come around and, well, they never did. I had no idea what had happened since I was too far from a PA speaker to hear anything and there were no corner workers nearby.

Like I said in the previous post, it was my first BRIC and I was impressed. The Friday night race car concours in town was a lot of fun, too. The crowd was huge.

Definitely lots of MINIs in attendance. I talked to Peter Egan of Road & Track and, while he was telling me how much he likes his MINI, two other people came up saying they own MINIs, too.

I have some shots up here.
