Nuzzo Motorsports MINI Coopers return to Virginia International Raceway October 1st and 2nd for the VIR 250 Mile race. VIR is a great racetrack which suits the MINI's well. During the 2003 race, we set fastest race lap of 2:11:2. We're coming off a top ten finish at Miami and are looking forward to an even better finish at VIR. The No. 20 MINI Cooper S will pair drivers Shane Lewis and team owner Tony Nuzzo.

Nuzzo Motorsports is pleased to announce that DWD Racing driver Julie Allen will share the No. 21 Nuzzo Motorsports MINI Cooper S with renowned female racer Divina Galica. The No. 21 entry will feature the only all-female team in the race and will display the pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness. In recognition of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, DWD Racing will make a $1 donation for each mile that Galica and Allen complete; and 10 percent of purchases made on the DWD Racing website during the month of October.

"I am thrilled to have DWD Racing make its Grand American debut at VIR, which is our home track," said Allen, "and that Divina Galica will be my co-driver. Divina is a formidable competitor and a legend among female racers, and I am honored to be sharing a car with her."

For Galica, racing is a second career. Prior to taking up Motorsports, she was a four-time Olympic skier, two-time captain of the British Women's Olympic Ski Team, holder of the downhill skiing speed record (at 125 mph) and honored by Queen Elizabeth as a Member of the British Empire for her efforts. She parlayed an invitation to a celebrity auto race into a three-decades-long career as one of the most accomplished female racers on the planet. She has raced everything from go-karts to Formula 1 cars, including European Truck Racing, the World Sportscar Championship, Barber Dodge Pro Series, Formula Renault, Formula Vauxhall Lotus, Formula 2, Sports 2000 and the Womens Global GT Series. Today she works as senior vice president of racing for Skip Barber Racing Schools.

"I'm really looking forward to co-driving the No. 21 Nuzzo Motorsports MINI Cooper S in the Grand-Am Cup race at VIR," Galica said. "Julie Allen is a very fast, determined and ambitious lady, and I think we'll make a great team."

DWD (Damn Woman Driver) Racing, Inc. is an event management company and racing team located in Danville, Va. Julie Allen, owner and driver, has been involved in racing on both the participant and management sides since 1994. She began her racing career as Membership Director for Sportscar VintageRacing Association (SVRA) and than advanced to Marketing Director. Julie recently served as Marketing Director for Virginia International Raceway before deciding to formalize her own venture.

For more information, check the team's website at www.dwdracing.com or contact Julie Allen at DWD Racing by telephone at (434) 203-1579 or by email at julie@dwdracing.com.

The VIR 250 race is scheduled to be televised Sunday October 17th at Noon ET on SPEED Channel. -- http://www.speedtv.com/programs/122/ -- Check your local listing for the correct time.

Good to see you again last weekend. Great race.

(I've added a DWD Racing bumper sticker to my MINI!)
