Another brake setup thread!
So I'm trying to get the car ready for my first track day. I've had my mind set on doing the R56 calipers & carriers upgrade along with the larger 294mm rotors in the front. The HPDE is going to be at Lime Rock and I will be running a worn in set of NT01's. What do you guys recommend for a pad that I can use on that track, yet still live with on my daily commute?
Main concern is the first corner, the rest won't be that hard of braking I imagine. Car is an R53 with a few bolt ons so I feel its only adequate to upgrade the brakes since I've upgraded the suspension, grip, and acceleration of the car by quite a bit over stock.

I think you may here from Eddie soon, he has a set of Wilwoods and 12.2" rotors for sale, maybe. But they were on an R56....
Someone will probably steer you towards CarboTechs but I am a HAWK guy but I swapped mine out at the track so no help to you..
I'll be interested in hearing your lap times at LRP...

What do you run at the track?
Pretty sure this pad doesn't exist. Maybe a HP+ but they're pretty noisy on the street and wouldn't stand up to repeated hard braking with the forces the NT01s are going to generate. Obviously it depends on how fast you are but my recommendation would be to buy a set of track pads and get used to swapping them. The dedicated pads will last much longer and be cheaper in the long run. Instead of buying 4 sets of "compromise" pads you can buy one set of street pads and one set of race pads that will last just as long.
My theory would be to go with stock until you find you need otherwise. Main thing is to make sure you have fresh brake fluid, it should have been flushed in the last three months.
Both of us run on track, so we're at least twice as hard on brakes as most people. We went over 4 years and 17 events on OEM pads before wear became a problem. As a single driver your first time out, I'd be surprised if you made measurable wear on the pads.
When OEM pads weren't good enough we tried EBC YellowStuff next, they're a lot harder wearing than OEM, and they just as quiet.

I've been on a break for a couple years while my car is being built. But I ran Hawk DTC70 pads up front using Wilwoods, and stock rear pads.
I've run both Hossiers and NT01's...at LRP.
