Any sway bar endlink issues for 22mm Alta on firm?
I have Stock springs & 22mm Alta bar on soft setting, but still get understeer. Maybe I'm slow adapting to appropriate trail braking technique. Anyway, I'm thinking of putting it at firm setting but am concerned about tweaking the end link. Has anyone done that? Should I get the $120 stronger links from Randy? I'd rather save up for tires or camber plates.
Did you have stock springs when it broke? I'm thinking that tendency to break/bend would decrease going to variable rate springs. Hence it sounds like a good idea to plan in advance with the purchase of the end links. Did you run the car at soft setting first? With stiff setting, do you ever get into trouble on the street? - like sudden oversteer that is hard to catch? I'm just worried about fast sweepers where the tail end might step out and cause a spin.
I have the stock springs. Randy at Webbmotorsports installed the sway bar for me and felt that the stiffer setting was best. I informed him of the break but he was at a loss to understand why it broke. I told him that I was going to replace the original end links with the Altas. He stated that he was working on a better end link but unfortunately I could not wait. I haven't had any problems on the street with the stiffer setting. Hope this helps
