LOL, picking up right where we left off. I think this would be a perfect example why there would need to be a floating steward, that goes from race to race. That, or it would need to be Charlie Whiting's responsibility since he already deemed the diffusers legal.
3D, 5Hr 11Min till practice!!!

Wouldn't you like to be a fly on each team's walls, so you can find out how many of these runs are all-out, and how many are testing one setup over another?
Then again, they ARE working on one that could probably do the job...

Maybe NEXT season...Ferrari could probably afford it.
Trivia bit--did you know that one-third of Ferrari's employees work on the F1 team?

How about the Sears building having its name changed. http://money.cnn.com/2009/03/12/news...ower/index.htm
What you talkin' 'bout Willis?
I think it sucks, even though the town I get my mail through IS Willis. There are some things you don't tamper with.
Then again, we have a baseball stadium that used to be named after homeboy Enron (and we all know THAT story), and is now named after a lemon...

I don't know. They'd have to keep the weight on as ballast anyway....granted the ballast wouldn't be rotational mass and you could place the ballast more strategically within the car. But I think if they've gotten it to work and it will improve the lap times, why not? I would imagine that there could be more constructors using KERS than actually announce it.
Dare I say it, it would be nice to know when the drivers are actually using their KERS, kind of like Champcar had with their "Power-to-Pass". For those who never caught it, whenever the driver hit the P2P and it gave them a significant boost in power (cant remember how much of a power boost) and the rain light would flash for as long as the driver was on the P2P.

I just hope this does not turn into a weekly debate of who is going to run KERS and will it help on this particular track. But I have a feeling that is very possible.
It is good to see they have officially announced they are going to use it; how does this translate in to them running scared though?
They from alot of the news kind of dismissed KERS (not as far along as other teams MY2 cents) and for them to be running KERS now- how strong is the car with out it forcing them to run KERS before they had really talked about running it. OR are they pulling all of the stops out for the first race win? From most of the talk they were not going to have KERS till race 3

On a side note, Discovery HD Theater will be running a show on the Race of Champions; April 5th 9PM. It looks like they will be following Tanner Faust and Carl Edwards, but the commercial did have many clips of Lewis showing off in his F1 car too.
It will be great to see KERS in use, IF it works. It would just about make F-1 green!
Anyone know of a downside if it doesn't work? I know BMW had a "shocking" problem last year, that presumably has been fixed by now. What else?
And we narrowly dodged a bullet:

Ok I see where you are coming from. I guess I see it as they feel it gives them the best chance to win; it will prove to be a great move or a dumb one depending on the result this weekend.

. Hopefully they'll air it on a regular Discovery channel.
Yeah you must have HD channels to see it. If you are into cars then do what you can to try and get Discovery HD Theater, they have a bunch of shows that fill my need for learning about cool cars and car events.
Extra weight is the biggest thing that I have read about. If something breaks and your KERS system is not working then you are just driving around with an extra weight which will now hurt speed and fuel consumption. I am sure there are a bunch of really technical mechanical and electrical things too though.

That, and I would imagine that there is a bit of extra rotational mass on the drivetrain from KERS which would keep some of the power from getting to the wheels. The team that would be most affected by this would be Williams I think, with their flywheel KERS. Either way, if you run KERS and it goes bad, you're double-screwed.
Cant wait!!!
