IMO- BS on Speed Channel

I was flipping around last found and ended up watching a preview for that nights Wind Tunnel. DD had on Robin Miller and they were discussing blocking in motorsports and Miller stated that European drivers should change when they race against US drivers. My first ?, why should they change? They've been racing what, 40 years longer than we have. Second, Europeans overall seem to be better drivers. Look at how much trouble you have to go through to get a license in Europe. So what if they block? Thats a part of racing. IMO, Miller is some NASCAR loving goober who is looking for a way to pick on European motorsports ie- F1, Le Mans, that kind of thing.

I agree with Robin.

Blocking is a tactic by the slower car to keep the faster car behind them.

I thought Dave's comment about MotoGP was right on. I would extend it to motorcycle road racing in general. Its awesome seeing the best in the world pass and re-pass as they fight for position.

p.s. I don't like NASCRAP either.

But, I have to disagree. He was b1tching about Hamilton blocking someone at the start of Hungary, I believe. There was no accident. There was no other complaints. Unless he's actually going significantly slower than another car and doing to aid, say, his teammate, lets have at it. Its a part of racing. Just because NASCAR drivers can't turn any way other than left, dosen't mean the rest of the smart world can't. Again, and this is just my opinion, Miller is a NASCAR raised douche who is looking for a way to knock down the European way of racing. Its because of people like him we have no more F1 here in the US. It seems to me they are a lot more passionate about it than we are. NASCAR is money, F1 is passion. And money, but thats second.

I good driver can place his car on a line to make it very hard to be overtaken. A chicken *#@% move is to drive across track to block. No skill there. Yep Hamilton crossed the track on the start. No he didn't hit anyone. It's only a mater of time until someone pays a very high price for such stupid behavior.

On to NASCRAP. Put a F1 driver in there & he drives across the track to block. What happened to JPM? Them boys got fenders & they'll knock you out of the way. IMO he got what he deserved. Too bad he took out 2 other drivers because of his euro racing style.

I like JPM, but that was pretty stupid.

EDIT*** Lots of passion in all motorsport.
