+1 on YouTube. See the Channel "DipYourCar". There are a ton of videos and a lot of tips. There are a little things that can help you get a near paint like finish. I have moved from using cans to using a paint sprayer to do my dipping. Its a fun hobby! I'm getting ready to do a Storm Trooper theme for this winter

I used to have the black tape...but went with this. You can get it at Oreilly's for 10 bucks. Did the top, back and front as well. Plasti dipping it would be very easy though. Very.

I remember when I first tried this plasti dip. I damn near covered the entire side of my car just to do the door handle. Now its to the point where I barely even use tape.

You really dont need that much coverage on the parts you are not painting. Tape off the area, finish job, get some kind of spray cleaner (in between wash detail type spray) and wipe the car down. "Overspray" comes off so easily. Its weird at first but eventually you will find that this is not spray paint.

I was concerned with my other car in the garage, but it had nothing on it. Plasti dip rules!!!!!!

I am down with that Question is where is the projection TV for the Ohio State games.

And you need carpet sample from the store to set under the tire ? Looks like you have some kind of plastic

No jukebox I can see. lol

Funny you say that. I'm shopping for a Samsung 60" smart tv that will mount to the wall where OSU logo is now. Garage has outlet for cable TV and Ethernet port so there's a dedicated wifi router in the garage already ;-)

Oh those are just sections of plastic linear I glued to the floor while it was curing so I don't get yellow spots from hot tires. I'm expanding the checked Swisstrax floor tiles across all stalls soon.

but i'd still have the dealer change the oil. hahaha warranty you know.
My friends work as service advisor, service managers, and techs and nearby Mini dealership so I get to do certain things that I can't do at home...like alignment.

I do my own JCW oil change every 3,333 miles and only do the once a year or every 10K miles free oil change at the dealer.

Hey nothing wrong with that. I like the antique stuff also. Always wanted an old big barn that can be converted to a cool garage yet keep the old structure exposed.

LOL price of a car has nothing to do with it and have never subscribed to that term "poor man's sports car". Just a hobby like any hobby ;-)

Always wanted a Mini Cooper and have watched "The Italian Job" almost 20 times (mainly because of Charlize Theron). I love the look of old school Minis and Gen 1 and 2, keeping the historical Mini lines so had to get one when I got a sweet deal on year end for my 2013. I knew the new one was coming but early pictures lost it for me.

Don't get me wrong. The new F56 JCW is nice and more refined. I looked at it closely back in January at the Detroit auto show and had a chance to test drive one recently. No offense to anyone who bought the new JCW, but it's just not for me. It's "too" refined and not as "raw" as Gen 2. Most of all it lost the look in some way. Interior is too busy, not simpler making the Gen 2 interior more desirable IMHO. Just personal taste...keeping my R56 JCW for a long time.

Remove and paint. They simply pop off. Front grill comes out easily and remove the 2 trim pieces also. Gas cap twists and use a small screw driver to gently lift the tab from behind. Side scuttles slide forward and pop out.

I remove anything I can for better coverage of the Plasti dip.

No problem!

I'm getting ready to meet the man, the legend, the one and only Valentino Balboni tonight for dinner. He's in town for the annual Dave Thomas Wendy's and Italian Exotics Gathering charity event for children.

Flat screwdriver wrapped with a towel.

Had dinner with Valentino Balboni this evening. What a living legend and such a gentleman. His signature and "Grazie!" can now be seen through the clean engine bonnet like an artist signing a masterpiece and encased in glass ;-)

Its permanent silver Sharpie so won't go anywhere.
