Additional feedback on Evolve Tuning?

I just sold my Access Port, which I had been fairly satisfied with through my last 2 Minis, but decided the ending of support was something I didn't want to chase after later this year.

Looked at WMW's unit, but when I called he was kind of a jerk and seemed to know way more about cars than me (didn't bother to tell him I just finished redesign of a fuel injector for later this year) so, I went with Evolve Tuning on my 2012 JCW. Spoke to them briefly this morning and they do a remote tune after getting your ECU data dump. Were generally very helpful and had some attention to detail I did not expect, ie would not allow idle condition instability like some of their competitors.

I found a few previous posts on their tuning but would like to hear back from anyone who has experience with them.

do you have an N18 in the 2012 JCW?

if you do, keep us posted ... the N18 is not supposed to be tuneable via the OBD2 port nor remotely tuned

Above is correct. I have the N14 engine - it was a bit of a scramble to find a new 2012 JCW when I was looking and I think I got one of the last 2 Clubmans left in the US.

Wanted the N14 mainly because of the tuning issues.

countryboyshane has had the Evolve tune done and have nothing but good things to say about them. I was tempted to use them instead of RMW(mainly because I can never get a hold of Jan) but found a local speed shop that has direct contact with him. That and RMW has direct experience with the Aquamist meth kit that I'm installing. Not sure how well Evolve tunes with meth.

Where are you located?

I'm in Greenville, SC. Try to keep things local when I can, it just didn't work out for tuning. We have DDM Works just down the road and they've done some work for me. Good guys, just no dyno.

Got my Evolve Tuning box in the other day and had a chance to download the existing ECU data to my PC. Very easy process and took about 10 minutes once I got everything plugged in.
Emailed the data file yesterday and got an automated response that I would have my new map within 48 hours.

I was wondering how the Evolve tune turned out as the Canadian distributor is 20 minutes away from me which is very tempting ! Was this tune worth the coin for you?
