Same here, about 900 miles and a little dissapointing so far on my 2013 JCW. I get a couple burbles when shifting or winding down. Literally two burbles then back to normal. I have only heard a pop once, while winding down in a parking lot in first gear. I'm going to try switching fuel brands and see if that helps any.

Weird. Once warmed up in sport, mine burbles and occasionally pops so loud it almost sounds like a backfire. I love it!

I get the backfires once in awhile and those are the best. I get this huge grin on my face every time it happens.

Man I am jealous I want to get some of those!

I thought maybe it was the crappy 91 octane we get in So Cal but I see you are here too. Maybe I should try some octane booster and see if that does anything?

Then I wondered if maybe it was the temps outside but today is 82 and still nada...just a few burbles but no pops dammit!

I'm not sure what to tell you. We have 91 octane here in AZ too. Just get her warmed up, accelerate in first or second, let off the gas, and she should pop and burble. Engine needs to be hot though, as apparently gas is dripped or sprayed on to the exhaust manifold to create this.

Good luck friend!

On my 2013 JCW...do you guys think I would get some pops if I did the resonator delete? Does doing that increase the pops and burbles on this engine or just change the exhaust note, or both?

I'm getting some P&Bs but I was thinking of deleting my resonator too. If you end up doing it, I'd love to hear it!

The JCW models burble all the time on overrun and pop when the exhaust get real hot. The sport button just amps it up a lot. The JCW does not pop as much as my 2012 S, but it is still awesome. Lots of folks are doing the resonator delete. I did that and the second cat (JCWs only have one cat), and the results were fantastic. No drone and obnoxious pop and burble. Just what I wanted....

Likewise, whoever goes first has to post some video! I have to find a shop to do it but I am sure leaning toward doing it!

There a whole thread dedicated to this. I'll find it and post it or you JCW owners! A buddy of mine started it. I was one of the first guys to really get the resonator delete hype going. It is an awesome and cheap mod that yields amazing sound.

I have videos of my 2012 MCS on YouTube right now. I will post links later. My car has less burble than a JCW, but you can really hear the pops. I might even shoot a new video with go pro just driving around. I love my pop and burble...

Check the username laardilla17 on YouTube for my videos...

Here is a quick video I pieced together this evening. Sorry about my little monologue...

This exhaust mod is the most amazing one for the MINI, in my opinion...

Hopefully, this is enough pop for you JakeC6R. (Tune in at 1:40...)

Oh yeah, pops like mad in sport mode! I'll bet it's even better driving - sounds great! Thanks for doing the video!

In the UK, most S and JCW owners find the pops and bangs are louder and more frequent when using higher octane fuels

Here we have either 97,98 or 99 octane

I run mine on Shell V power and when its in sport mode it sounds like artillery fire

no pops no burbles

I test drove a 2013 JCW hardtop and the exhaust was very quiet. There were no pops or burbles on deceleration in 2nd or 3rd gear. The sport button was pressed. It seems like the resonators are doing their job.

I've been getting more artillery fire recently. At 3000 miles now.
