Coming from a Cayman S, which has a similar level of practicality to the Carrera in terms of carrying "stuff", I can say that it has an impressive amount of headroom but nowhere near as practical as a Clubman.
Maybe new for 2012? I think I gave up looking towards the end of 2010 when I did confirm the NA models did not have a sunroof delete. Looked into the Cayman but it has less leg room.
Anyhoo, the fast car in the garage now is a 69 impala convertible with a 502 ramjet. I would even call the back seat comfortable.
The Mini is just too much fun to drive on a daily basis not to get another one..

This Cooper is an upgrade from a 2010 convertible S which I was very happy with, just wanted a little more room, a little more go, and did not need two convertibles in the garage. Interior details are excrutiatingly critical to me because Minis are actually one of the few cars I can sit straight up in (provided there is no sunroof). I'd prefer a 911 but you can't order one in the US without a sunroof. For me it's the difference between a practical car and not really being able to sit in it. So, when I'm dropping $40k on a Mini, it's a relatively serious question because I can't fit in the usual midlife crisis cars like Corvettes, Z's and Porsches.

I insisted on a 2012 so I could transfer over my intercooler and ecu flash tool. The dealer found one of the last 2 in the US in Tampa and I get it on Monday. I decided the extra space outweighed the little extra weight and I could make up the difference plus some with the parts off my S.
Bhegg is correct, the standard sunroof has been removed from the 911 lineup with this new 991 version of the car. Also, the sunroof now opens up and outward so it doesn't end up lowering the headliner to be stored and taking up headroom. That being said, there is considerably more headroom in my 2010 MCS than a family member's 2010 911.

Sure, except it never came your way. Someone made an off-hand remark about a similar model comparison discussion and you were rude about it.

I own a 2013 911 Carrera S and a 2011 Clubman JCW. The Clubman has slightly more headroom than the 911. However, the new 911 is very close. Also, the redesigned sunroof actually adding about 1/2 of headroom for the 911.

Thanks. I probably should've pointed out sooner that I'm 6'7". But that does give me some hope over the next couple years that maybe my next visit to the Porsche dealer will be different.
