2013 JCW Availability?

But 3-6 weeks worth of downtime from production start sounds about right.
Hang in there, it's coming! I hope mine gets here before Winter. Cause, you know, Winter Is Coming.

With good weather, I was given 10 days worth of navigation time, and then all bets are off as to how long it takes from the shipyard to the dealer.

That sounds about right. Mine is showing at the dealership on OL but I have yet to get the call from my MA to schedule the pick up.

If it weren't for my Not Normal event being on 10/20 I'd pick mine up as soon I get the call. Shouldn't you be at MINI of Tempe's event today or are you waiting for MINI North Scottsdale's event next Saturday? If I were you I'd go today and get that voucher in my inbox ASAP.

2013 will usher in the first year that an Automatic will be available in a JCW.

Question for anyone: Does anyone have any information on the new Aisian automatic transmission for the JCW? Also, don't look for it until at least March as the first JCW to get the automatic is the Countryman/Paceman JCW that won't be delivered until March. Doesn't affect me, as I'm a year away from replacing my JCW. Wife says automatic this time, and thinks that I put one over on here with this JCW six speed. I told her that the six speed was the only available transmission, but that didn't help.
Also, anyone know what the difference is between the Mini S 181 hp and the JCW 208? hp version? I've looked everywhere for some technical information, but all they say is that it has been improved to handle the extra power. Help!!

That sounds GREAT for those buying this year. I was told by my dealership, when I was trying to get information about this new automatic, he said that the Countryman JCW would be introduced first with the automatic, then the rest would follow. Just shows you what dealers know about their own product. By the way, gas mileage is way off on the sticker, as my 2011 JCW gets 38 highway, and 30+ city, I won't tell you what gas I use though, as my dealer might read this.

That's what I'm trying to figure out too! I started a thread(https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fferences.html) without much success. I don't think I was very clear.

Ok. Bigger turbo. Sodium filled valves. Lightweight crankshaft. High strength block. Different cat back exhaust. Different intake. Different software.

Thanks for the reply in this thread and the other Greg, but I think hemisedan and I are both looking for the specific technical differences. Like, what size turbo does the S have and JCW? How was the crankshaft changed to make it lighter and the block to make it stronger? What's the diameter of the S exhaust and the JCW? Etc.

Thank you Greg! I did get the SS. In fact, I just changed out the runflats today for Michelin Pilot Super Sport's (215/45/17). Even without the PSS's fully worn in I can tell a big difference coming in and out of the turns with these tires. Car just stays planted. I'm sure it will feel a little better as I put a little wear on the tires. Me = happy camper
