JCW front brake rotor and pads needs replacement
JCW front brake rotor and pads needs replacement
I just came back from my water pump recall service. They told me my front brake pads were within 2mm of needing replacement. I was told this was a almost a 900 dollar job because the rotors can't be turned and the pads are expensive. I find it odd that they don't turn the rotors but wouldn't surprise me if it's due to some cost cutting measure (thinner OEM rotors means more money in their pockets and less in ours).
So I ask my fellow JCW owners, what have you done when you reached this point. Have you upgraded (to what) or did you remain stock?
Also, where do you get your brake parts from if you didn't get them from the dealer. I know I'll be performing this service myself to save some dollars.
Thanks!
