Noise Maker Delete - 2011 JCW
Found it? Noise Maker Delete - 2011 JCW
From searching around.... I see others that have a 09 JCW have done the Noise maker delete.
Does anyone know if the 2011 JCW needs the Noise Maker Delete?
I am not completely sure what I am looking for .... after looking in at the Motor and all
Thx for the Help!

That's a good question. To find out, follow the boost pipe that's located on the passenger side of the engine.
Put you hand on it and follow it towards the firewall and intake manifold.
If you feel / see a split where the "noise maker" turns towards the firewall and makes a connection, then you have the noise maker.

Yes 2011 Noise Maker Delete?
I'm going to say YES it is here from your description.
I found a hose that "Y" off and goes underneath and behind the JCW Airbox and goes into the firewall. H'm
What does this do exactly? Why did BMW put it there?

So I know that MINI has a new charge pipe, and that some of the earlier 2011's still had the noise-maker. I'm wondering for those that don't have it, is there a plate that covers the opening in the firewall or is there simply no opening at all in the firewall behind the air intake?

If your talking about the boost tube muffler delete. All you'll need is a piece of
2"diameter X 9" long exhaust tubing. It cost me 5 bucks at my local muffler shop..the original one on the car is mounted with 2 house clamps and 1 torx screw. I had mine switched out in around 30 minutes.

no no, I meant the noise maker on the cold side!
DoS's kit is a piece of silicon tubing with an aluminum cap on the end. It seems like something that someone could fab up for a couple bucks vs. theirs for $26!

Hmm, I've got a 2012 Cooper S and never seen this before.. Even when I installed my m7 vacumm boost tap. Doesn't look familiar but I'm gonna check it out first thing in the morning. It looks like you can plug it with a 1" PVC cap.. Ill keep ya posted with what I find.
Thanks for the info.
