Fresh vs. Recirc.

So I got my '11 JCW 10 days ago. And I'm wondering if it's just me but when the vent is set to "fresh", I don't feel much of anything. I don't have the cabin filter, so I'm sure that's not hindering flow. Between my inifinti that has a filter, to my Acura that doesn't, I'm wondering if it needs to be addressed. So that's why I'm asking you guys/gals. What is up?

Turn on the fan. There is no flow-through air circulation.

I notice on the 2011 that:

  • with AC OFF, and RECIRC OFF, and temp on MANUAL (not AUTO) there is fresh air. I validated this by cracking open the drivers window and air flowed out (Cabin being pressurized).
  • However, with AC ON, and RECIRC OFF, and temp on manual, air is recirculating, not coming through vents from outside. Validated by air coming IN the driverside window when cracked.
I'm still looking into this, but it appears that the recirc button in meaningless when running AC. (guess i have to break down and read the owners manual )

This makes no sense to me and would like others to weigh-in.
